Tharan J. Lanier, CPA

Founding Partner

Tharan is the founder of the firm which eventually became LMGW Certified Public Accountants. A graduate of Santa Clara University, he joined the firm of Arthur Young shortly after leaving the army in the late 1960′s. He received his MBA from Santa Clara in 1974, and started his own accounting practice in 1976. Tharan specializes in individual and business tax, in addition to running the firm’s audit department.

On a personal level Tharan is very involved in the community with a number of local not for profit organizations and churches, and is still actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America. On top of being a partner at LMGW, Tharan holds a lifetime certificate to teach accounting and business management courses at California community colleges, has taught both undergraduate and MBA accounting courses at Santa Clara, and currently teaches Accounting and Tax courses through UCSC Extension in Silicon Valley.

Tharan’s prior achievements include running a public accounting practice in Silicon Valley for over 30 years. Tharan continues to specialize in individual tax and audits of not for profit organizations.
